I don’t even mean this in some abstract kind of way that applies to only some people. I mean this applies to everyone on the planet in a tangible and real way.

This one girl I know, is according to me one of the best chicks I’ve worked with. She’s quite positive, and generally friendly and just has a happy to see you kind of look on her face when you bump into her. Great, who would talk bad about her? Well apparently to some people she’s too positive and hence must be faking it. Let’s be clear she’s done absolutely nothing wrong to her skeptics, and yet they can’t resist criticizing her.
Now let’s say this same girl was a bit sarcastic and snarky, and maybe a bit moody at times. Do you think this would satisfy these critics? Doubt it, now it would be “Oh her, yeah she’s a bit bitchy”.
I’ve seen it too with my own life. Things I used to think were holding me back from “reaching that point” when finally everyone would understand and respect me. Well in the end, regardless of what you do, you’re just always going to be at some kind of loss.
So what’s the solution?
You need to be smart and actually stop handing out trust. You need to take a step back and stop being generous too. Get to know people very well before you trust them and stop telling people details about your personal life.
Make some good friends if you can, and forget the rest.
