What are some ways to start feeling great?
There are many ways to start feeling great. One way is to start by setting realistic goals and working towards them. Another way is to find activities that make you happy. And lastly, be grateful for the good things in your life.
Two ways to make yourself feel better are to exercise and to fantasize. Exercise is a no brained if you can motivate yourself to get moving. Just a little movement can help you feel better.
Fantasy is an excellent way to help yourself feel better. I’ve recently started being intentional about using my imagination to boost my mood. For example, if I find myself ruminating on negative thoughts I choose to change the thought to a fantasy. I fantasize about wearing a beautiful dress. I can feel the soft flowing material against my skin. I fantasize about putting together beautiful outfits. I fantasize about being on a tropical beach or beautiful location.
Fantasy/ imagination is a great way to escape and distract your mind long enough to refocus. I’ve learned to have fun with it! I recently read that if you’re in the presence of a negative person imagining that you’re a gray rock helps shield you from the negative energy and prevents you from being sucked in to the situation. I love that idea! I’ll definitely try it out the next time I’m in a similar situation.
I’ve been depressed and couldn’t clean my room so I lay in bed and imagined I was in a beautiful resort. That was a much better place to be than my reality!
imagination is free. Be intentional about putting it to good use. The mind doesn’t know if the situation is real or imagined anyway.
