There are different mindsets that people can adopt in order to deal with life’s challenges. Some people believe that they can’t do anything wrong and that they should just sit back and let things happen. Others believe that they can take control of their lives and make things happen the way that they want. There are also people who believe that life is too short to waste time worrying about things that don’t matter. In the end, everyone has their own way of dealing with the challenges that life throws their way.

The different mindsets that exist in the world can be broadly classified into two categories: individualistic and collectivist. The individualistic mindset is focused on the individual, and the collectivist mindset is focused on the group.

Carol Dweck woudl say there are “Fixed” and “Growth” mindsets.
The former is focussed with getting everything right and fears making a mistake because, in their mind, it makes them a less worthy human. The latter sees mistakes as feedback and not as a mark against themselves as a human – they understand they are worthy even when are totally incompetent.

Are you more a THINKER or FEELER?
There’s no right answer – it’s just an awareness exercise.
(If you can’t decide I’d put you on the THINKER side as your THINKING is stopping you from making a clear and easy decision.)
Another version could be a BLACK & WHITE mindset vs. a Shades of Grey mindset.
Again, no right or wrong.
Each categorisation is useful in it’s own way. The trick is to not hold any categorisation as being THE method. And, be aware you can look at your overall mindset or you can look at your mindset in the moment and notice that your mindset can shift depnding on how you feel, where you are, who you’re with and how they interact with you.
