There are many reasons why someone might settle for a fast food job. Maybe they are looking for a job that is easy to get and doesn’t require a lot of training. Maybe they are looking for a job that will provide them with regular hours and pay them well. Maybe they are looking for a job that is close to their home. Whatever the reason, it’s important to remember that fast food jobs are not always the best option for someone’s career or lifestyle. Here are a few reasons why:
1. Fast food jobs are not always physically demanding.
Many fast food jobs involve sitting behind a counter or behind a cook station all day long. While this may not seem like a lot of work, it can be very taxing on the body. If you are looking for a career that will challenge you, a fast food job may not be the best option.
2. Fast food jobs are not always profitable.
While it may be easy to get a fast food job, it’s not always easy to make a good income from it. The average fast food worker earns just over $9 an hour, which is certainly not enough to support a family. If you are looking for a career that will provide you with long-term financial stability, fast food jobs may not be the best option.
3. Fast food jobs are not always safe.
Fast food restaurants are notoriously dangerous locations. Not only are the jobs physically demanding, but the restaurants are often crowded and noisy. If you are looking for a job that will offer you safety and security, fast food jobs may not be the best option.
4. Fast food jobs are not always consistent.
Fast food restaurants are notorious for their sudden changes in staffing. This means that the job market for fast food workers is always changing, which can be difficult to deal with. If you are looking for a career that will be stable and consistent, fast food jobs may not be the best option.
Maybe, maybe not. I worked in food service from the ages of 13–27ish I met people with high self esteem and low self-esteem. It was the only job I could get at that age when I started and I was a kitchen manager by my high school age so I just stuck with it because the pay was okay and it got me out of class early. I knew one guy at a Boston market I worked at the was about 45 and absolutely loved it he was one of the happiest people I ever met. So if he had low self-esteem he hid it very well. I also knew a Hispanic couple that both worked three different fast food or food jobs to support their families because it was all they could get. Three of the happiest people I’ve ever met in life all worked at McDonald’s or Burger King drive thrus and they didn’t seem to have low self esteem and were older in age maybe they were just faking it for years. I think some people just get stuck in jobs, or don’t want to leave or they keep giving little raises or reasons to stay or some people are just happy to have a job period. I think at some points in life you just need a job so it’s not seen as settling. It’s like be homeless and not eat for some time or work at McDonald’s? It’s all perspective. Being 35 now and not working in food service for seven or so years I wouldn’t go back.
”Why fast food is not a good job?”
There is an immense pressure of offering customer service, getting the order right, dealing with different personalities, long lines, while working at a fast pace. That could lead to some unpleasant moments during the shift, and it is one of the top reasons as to why people quit their jobs.

This means that many fast food workers are not able to live very well on their income. Furthermore, many fast food jobs are very demanding and require a lot of physical labor. This can be very tiresome and difficult work. Finally, many fast food jobs are not very safe. This is because fast food restaurants are often located in dangerous areas. All of these factors make it very difficult for fast food workers to live a comfortable life.

I’ve been working at a fast food restaurant for about a year now and it’s honestly the worst job I’ve ever had. The hours are terrible, the pay is terrible, and the work is just plain terrible. I hate having to work in a place where all I do is sit at a desk all day and do nothing. I would much rather be working in a restaurant where I can actually interact with the customers, but at this place that just isn’t possible. The customers are so rude and unprofessional and it’s really hard to take it when they just ignore me when I try to help them with their order. The only good thing about this job is that it’s really easy to get fired.
